Sam Elam, Director of Media Manoeuvres, is a media strategist and corporate communications adviser and founder of Media Manoeuvres - a specialist communications company focused on issues/crises communications management and media interview skills training.

She has been involved in the communications, publishing and media fields for the past 25 years.

Sam started her career in magazine publishing producing six national titles as well as developing and authoring a number of specialist books. Moving into the communications consultancy environment, she spent eight years in management and senior consulting.

During this time Sam advised many of Australia's major corporations on media and marketing communications strategies as well as issues and crisis management. Sam was a member of the Arnott's extortion threat, crisis communications team.

Sam spent 12 months on secondment as Public Relations Manager during the “set up” stage at Crown Casino when issues management was a primary focus.

Sam's industry background has brought her into regular and close contact with all forms of electronic and print media. She has been keenly sought after by the media in relation to communication strategies, events and similar business activities. She has also been involved in media management of prominent people.

Sam’s passion and appreciation of the power of the media and the importance of issues management, led her to found Media Manoeuvres in 1997, a specialist media company with a depth of media talent unparalled in Australia. Sam quickly established the company as one of the most respected, specialist companies in Australia.

Sam combines her media and corporate communications skills to deliver insightful presentations to corporate audiences, particularly in the area of organisational issues preparedness and management. She assists national and international clients in managing the media and other communications audiences through strategic planning and media skills coaching.
