Achievements:
Michael has held leadership positions since his earliest days in the legal profession.  When Michael was first admitted to the legal profession he became Chairman of the Queensland Young Lawyers and served on the National Young Lawyers Committee for the Law Council of Australia.

As a new partner he quickly moved to the role of staff partner due to his interest in human resources and he was first elected as Managing Partner of his law firm on the day it officially became Clayton Utz on 1 July, 1992.

Michael is currently in his second term as Managing Partner of Clayton Utz, Brisbane and serves on the Firm's National Executive Committee.

Michael's previous roles include being a former Director of Mack Trucks Australia, Volvo Commercial Vehicles of Australia, the Wesley Research Institute, Irisbus Australia and the Australasian Disputes Centre and a former Director and Chairman of LEADR (Lawyers Engaged in Alternative Dispute Resolution).  Michael was also a member of the Blue Care Advisory Board, South East Regional Queensland Development Authority, Queensland University of Technology Council, State Council of Royal Institute of Public Administration and former Part-Time Law Reform Commissioner with the Queensland Law Reform Commission (appointed by the Attorney-General).
