Achievements:
Sandy was CEO of the Sydney Olympic Organising Committee for the Olympic Games & of two major Commonwealth Government Departments concerned with industry, technology, education & training. He was Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Bob Hawke & a Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister department. He was an Australian diplomat for sixteen years. In his post Olympic life, he has been called on for a wide range of private & public sector projects ranging from bushfire & cyclone recovery to the Melbourne Commonwealth Games to the promotion of Australian business in markets such as China & India. He also retains a strong interest in the community sector & was Chair of the NSW Committee for the International Year of Volunteers in 2001
