Achievements:
Brian worked with IBM for 35 years in marketing, software development and general management roles in Europe, the United States and in Asia. He was CEO of IBM Australia (1980–1993), and subsequently Chairman until 1998.

He has been a Director of a number of companies and organisations, including Telstra, Sydney Ports Corporation, Southcorp, PowerTel, Heytesbury, CitiPower and AXA.

Brian was made an Officer in the Order of Australia in 1990 and was awarded the Centenary Medal in 2003.

He holds Honorary Doctorates from the University of Western Sydney, Griffith University and the University of Wollongong. He is a Fellow of the University of Technology Sydney.
