The CEO Institute appoints David Gray to mentor Queensland CEOs

Special leadership role for Chairman of Queensland Motorways

Queensland Motorways chairman, David Gray, has been appointed to mentor a new group that The CEO Institute (Qld) has established to provide leadership guidance and peer support for the CEOs of large Queensland companies.

Sue Forrester, CEO of The CEO Institute (Qld), said Mr Gray was sought out as a great match to lead the new group, which mostly comprises the heads of $100 million plus Queensland companies.

She said Mr Gray brings a depth of experience as a highly experienced CEO of multinational companies.

“His finely tuned facilitation skills and recognised chairmanship skills will bring out the best in The CEO Institute syndicate he has been chosen to lead,” Ms Forrester said.

Mr Gray was CEO of Boeing Australia for 12 years and was formerly CEO of EEC Marconi Australia and GEC Heavy Engineering. He is also chairman of WaterSecure and Queensland Cyber Infrastructure Foundation. He is deputy chair of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and CEO in Residence at Queensland University of Technology. With an illustrious career in manufacturing, engineering, project management and defence, he was awarded the Centenary Medal for his contribution to the aviation industry and an honorary doctorate from QUT for his advancement of the education and aviation industries.
