Achievements:
Michael Stillwell is an experienced Independent Company Director with a forty year background in the fields of Family Business, Automotive Retail, International Aviation and Information Technology.

Having recently completed an Executive MBA and a Masters of Marketing at the University of Melbourne Business School Michael’s core strengths are in the areas of Strategic Planning, Leadership Development, Retail Sales & Marketing, International Business, Governance and Risk Management.

In addition to his role as a non-executive director of the family owned Stillwell Motor Group Michael is a member of Family Business Australia where he serves as Audit Committee Chairman on FBA’s National Board. He is a director of Interplast Australia New Zealand where he provides strategic input to the Marketing, Fundraising & Communications functions. Michael also serves as a director of the Australian Motor Sport Foundation and chairs the Philanthropy Committee of the Melbourne Business School Alumni Council.

As the eldest second generation member of the Stillwell Family Michael played a key role in the transition and growth of the Stillwell Family business following the death of family patriarch Bib Stillwell in mid 1999. Having contributed actively to the family succession plan and the recruitment of a non-family CEO Michael retired early in 2009 from his full time role.

In addition to the recently completed Melbourne Business School Executive MBA and Masters of Marketing Michael’s education includes the completion of an AICD Company Directors Course, a Graduate Diploma of Management at Monash University plus a number of Ford, BMW and industry based training programs. Over recent years he has also lead and co-facilitated training and leadership development programs within the Stillwell Motor Group.
